Rooftop Gardens

Been sick so haven't posted so here we go!

I love gardens and think the idea of utilizing but also using less space is wonderful! Why NOT put it on the roof? Instead of all that sun wasted on your dark rooftop, why not do something with it? Grow something! So hopefully, if I ever own a home, I'll be able to afford to have a garden on my roof. If not, there'a always the option of the window sill or little pots near the windows. Greenery, it makes life so much better!

Thinking of making a birdcage veil and adding a flower made of fabric to it. less than 2 weeks! Go me! :] I really should focus on school but having this damn flu is killing me!

Snow in the Bay??

They say there is the possibility of snow falling in the Bay Area which hasn't happened in so long! I have yet to see it snow at all even though I've seen the snow about 3 times total in my life.

The temperature is dropping like crazy here and man, everyone is sick, I'm super sniffly. Uggghh. Kleenex is my best friend. Even though I'd like to see it snowing, I hope the temp. will rise quickly! So tired of this cold, the freezing toes and fingers, and the sleepiness... Feel just like a bear... :]

Fooding- Dessert

Mmmm stuff I want to try to make:

So hopefully, when I have some free time and get the ingredients, I'll make some and share with people since I usually make a lot of food. Yum yum!

Textures

Having walls doesn't mean you have to have boring plain ones like we typically see in our homes. I love textured walls, especially inspired or created from natural resources such as this interior made of what looks like stalks of bamboo. Such a interesting layering effect that is as dynamic as it is soothing to the eye. Who needs a neutral paint when you have the dried bamboo to add that touch to your home?

Talking about texture, this dress by ASOS is so wonderful! I would love to own it if they still had size 2 (wonder if I'd fit in that 4...) and if I had $100 to spare. I love this look that is unique yet elegant enough to wear pretty much anywhere.
Finished part 1

All I need to work on are the section, plan which I need to convert and place into Illustrator then
work on the layout, Photoshop details such as people, books, etc. Pretty happy with it... :P
Yay to being partly done early/quickly!! Woohoo!
I think I might want to re-render one of the images because the angle is kinda funky but ehh, place holder for now I suppose.
I have a real fondness for classy but funky dinnerware and I love glass! Never can get used to those plastic dinnerware/cups....Once I get my own place with the Man.. ;]

Spine

Personally, I find the back one of the sexiest parts of the human body on either gender. Something about hour-glass shape with the narrowed waist and hips flared out is so attractive (yes, even men usually have smaller waists than their shoulders). The indention of the spinal cord is quite nice to look at. I'm not saying I like the look on super skinny people or larger ones, just saying it looks nice. Sexy without being over the top...

Quick quick!

Fast post since I realized I don't have that much time... Some ideas for my sister (she's kinda chubby, short, and will be showing more when wearing the dress... ) the slimmer one is me. Gotta cover that tat so mother and father won't be even more shocked. :P

I know, I'm not the best sketcher of human figures but I've been doing buildings for so long! It feels weird to draw the proportions of the human body esp since we're both so short! I guess something like the picture but not so... much lace! I'm an uncomplicated woman. Gotta figure out what the sister likes besides just being comfortable.
Door knobs are usually over looked, but here's a cool one but with no privacy if you have a peeper. You can see what's in the other room! Kinda like when you look at yourself on a spoon. I suppose it's great for crazy fathers!!

Wedding Plans

Been busy trying to figure things out and not go crazy with the family. DIY projects are so awesome though! Maybe I'll try to figure out how to make my sister a wedding dress that will make her comfy and yet, feel like a real bride. Picture of the dresses not the prettiest, but gives me an idea
For our apt, I'm hoping to also make a folding screen for some privacy since the Man stays in the living room and it's kinda awkward for him to sleep with people walking back and forth. And, don't gotta worry about people seeing when he's changing or whatnot. Planning to buy some rice paper and hand paint it... Just not sure what to paint on it. Scenery? Maybe something relating to us.. or not? Maybe autumn leaves since the rich colors are incredible...

Mum's arrival

Yay! Finally she's home and most importantly, safe and sound! Brought lots of presents (for me: cute lingerie, some cheap jewelry and shoes) for my sisters, our man friends, and the family. It's been weird without her for 3+ months and I'll be glad to give her back some of the responsibilities!

So the second pic is my bookcase hybrid project that I'm working in Modo for class consisting of: seat, light, and bookshelf. It's ceiling height, more or less, and it's meant to accommodate people of different heights and sizes. Still a work in progress.. Any opinions?

Random...

-Guavas are so delicious!! Had some pink ones today.. and then had some Kern's guava juice (I know, it's not really juice but hey, shoot me)

-Mom's gonna be here tomorrow! Yay!!

-Time to start crocheting baby stuffs! Talking about crocheting, I think of those cute hats. I love those babies with those adorable hats with the ears on them. :] Can't wait to see you, lil nephew/niece. Though, hoping for a niece to love cuz honestly, I don't know how to care for a penis/scrotum.... LOL.... it just looks so ... strange and delicate and swollen. Seems like a silly thought but, I was just thinking it when I was helping an uncle change his newborn's diaper.

Modo

For class, I'm doing some kind of bookshelf hybrid. I chose to utilize the word "folding" in my design. Because it's a hybrid, I'm combining the bookshelf with seating (Gotta have a place to sit while reading those books, yarrrr?) as well as lighting as well. Hopefully all will go just swell but so far, so slow. :P
Modo, a 3D program I'm using to create this bookshelf, is actually a really fun and usually easy to work with program. Renders quickly, materials are applied easily and you can find some materials online if you know what I mean. ;]
I wish though, that I could just plug myself in the computer and the images I have in my head would just pop up! Image the time that would save!! Haha.. almost Matrix-style, but the opposite..

Almost Vday, guys! :] For me, that means the time my mother will FINALLY get home from her 3 month vacay and I get to see the hubbers.. however, 8:30 a.m. class... Have a good and funday Sunday!

Really bummed cuz I didn't get the internship I wanted at RMW but.. posting some cool things about Interior Design...
At the moment, clean design is really a trend and I love the minimalistic qualities it has in interiors. Don't need all that fuss, right? Quality, not quantity! Okay, don't hate me but I hate how Apple has taken that so far and EVERYTHING looks the same! Sure, the first laptops and Ipods were interesting. Yet, does every single thing have to look the same? Same rectangles with fillet-ed corners... come on designers- design already!! Ipads look exactly like those Iphones that are such a big hit... so pricey too. Hrm, biased, I know.
Anyway, back to interior design..I really love model making. You know those doll houses? I always was fascinated with the furniture and playing with how the spaces look if you do certain things.

Process and crafting

On the left- one of the first paintings I ever did in 2007. The project was recreating a painting an artist made. I like it even though it's a bit eerie.

Currently, in the process of moving.
4 people in a 1 bedroom apartment? This shall be interesting after announcing (sometime this month) that we're moving out to my bi-polar and crazy Asian father even though we're in our mid-20s. NOT looking forward to that part, but looking forward to finally having some privacy and no curfew for once!! I feel like a teenager all over again.. haha... Only time can tell!

Moving on... since my friend goes shooting a lot and doesn't reuse his casings, I think I'll try to recreate something like the the necklace picture. Maybe not so... blatantly female though and perhaps some for my male friends to put on their key chains.

On to something more useful.. I've been thinking about creating my own furniture since we don't have ANY furniture besides 2 fold-able camping chairs that fits half an ass. Still need: a table top (got a free metal table bottom), 4 matching chairs, 2 beds, dressers or something to put clothes in.. Oh ambitious me... hrm, should check other's DIY sites :D

Painting Pt 2

Here are the rest of the paintings, hopefully I will have time this semester to do more artworks. Goal: Draw/Sketch everyday! Hahah, not only a personal goal but also something I need to do for class. Heh....
Trying to work acrylic to give the effect of using watercolors..Painted on canvas paper (not as hard as I thought it'd be) with a painting session with a cousin. Each took about 45 minutes to complete. Took the pictures with my built in laptop camera so the quality is terrible. Need to find that charger for my camera.. now if only there was a universal charger for everything for us absent-minded people. Kekeke...

On a more personal level, this year seems like it'll be an interesting year. Hopefully, WAY better than last year!

Painting

In the past few years, I've really tried to grow as an artist. Not just by drawing, but doodling with whatever I have on hand and trying out different mediums. Something I've been meaning to work on is painting and during the course of winter break, I've managed 3 paintings. The one shown is one of an image I found on Google images and since I've never really done anything like this, thought I'd give it a try. Thought it went pretty well, yeah? Go me!

Maybe my inspirations can hopefully inspire people to go out and try something they have never done or get on track *ahem-new year's resolutions, anyone??*
